Smart Meter Energy Demand Research Project – UK

Smart Meter Energy Demand Research Project – UK

Description

The Energy Demand Research Project (EDRP) was a major set of trials, designed to help better understand how domestic consumers react to improved information about their energy consumption over the long term. The trials were undertaken by four energy supply companies in the UK. The project explored the responses of approximately 60,000 different households, including around 18,000 with smart-type meters, over a period of around two years. The majority of the trials began in late 2007 or early 2008 and the trials finished towards the end of 2010.
